Cute sitting puppy with floppy ears, simple coloring page for toddlers

Easy Puppy Coloring Page

A cute puppy with floppy ears sits and wags its tail. Ask your child to give the puppy a name and decide if it has spots. Practicing the dog sound and naming body parts, like ears, nose and tail, makes it a mini language lesson.

Things to talk about while coloring

Puppies are baby dogs, and they sleep a lot while they grow. Dogs wag their tails for lots of reasons, often when they're happy or excited. Talk about dogs your child knows and what kind of care a puppy needs, like food, water, walks, and lots of love.

Coloring ideas

Brown, tan, black, or white all suit a puppy, and kids can add spots or patches to make it their own. Color the nose black and the tongue pink, and add a collar with a bright tag. Older kids can draw a bowl or a ball next to the puppy and color that too.

A little learning

Puppy has two Ps, so say the P sound together and listen for it at the start and in the middle of the word. Clapping the two beats in pup-py helps kids hear syllables.
