Things to talk about while coloring
This snowman is built from three snowballs stacked from biggest at the bottom to smallest on top. Packing snow works best when it is a little wet and near freezing, which is why fluffy powder falls apart in your hands. Ask your child what would happen to this snowman on a warm, sunny day, and talk about melting.
Coloring ideas
Leave the snowman white or give him a pale blue shadow on one side, then go bold on the scarf with stripes. Orange for the carrot nose, brown for the stick arms, and black for the hat finish the classic look, though a purple top hat is just as fun.
A little learning
Lining up the three snowballs by size, from small to big, is easy practice with comparing and ordering, and counting the buttons down the front adds a quick number job.
