Things to talk about while coloring
This friendly T. rex is holding a big heart in its short arms. Real T. rex arms were small compared with its huge body, but they were strong. Scientists who dig up and study dinosaur fossils are called paleontologists, a big word kids enjoy saying. Ask your child to invent a silly dinosaur valentine message, like "You're dino-mite."
Coloring ideas
Green, purple, or orange all look great on this dinosaur, and the round spots on its body and tail can be a second color. Make the heart red or pink so it pops against the body, and color the striped belly a lighter shade.
A little learning
Counting the spots, then counting the pointed teeth in that big smile, gives kids two quick counting jobs on one page. Clapping the three beats in di-no-saur adds a quick syllable game.
