Things to talk about while coloring

Tyrannosaurus rex lived in what is now western North America and had huge jaws filled with banana-sized teeth. Its arms were short but strong, with just two fingers on each hand. Its name means "tyrant lizard king," which kids usually love to say in a big, booming voice.

Coloring ideas

Scientists don't know the true colors of most dinosaurs, so any color is fair game. Try green with a lighter belly for the T. rex, then use orange and red on the volcano and two shades of green on the palm leaves. A pattern of darker stripes down the back makes this friendly T. rex look even bolder.

A little learning

T. rex starts with T, so practice the T sound and hunt for other T words in the picture, like tree, teeth, and tail.
