Things to talk about while coloring
In old stories, a unicorn's horn was said to have special powers, like making water clean to drink. This unicorn wears a crown of flowers in its flowing mane. Ask your child which real flowers they would use to make a flower crown, and look for some on your next walk.
Coloring ideas
The long, swirly mane is perfect for stripes of color that follow each curl, like pink, purple, and blue. Color the spiral horn gold or silver, and give each flower in the crown its own bright shade with green leaves between them.
A little learning
Tracing the swirl on the horn with a finger from bottom to top is good practice for the curved strokes used in writing letters like S and C. Counting the flowers in the crown is a nice extra task.
