Things to talk about while coloring
Farmers use tractors to pull plows, plant seeds, and haul heavy loads. The big back wheels help the tractor grip soft, muddy ground. Talk about foods that grow on farms and how a tractor helps get them from the field to the table. Some tractors have tracks instead of wheels to move through very soft ground. Ask your child what they would grow on their own farm if they had a tractor like this one.
Coloring ideas
Green or red with yellow wheels are popular tractor colors. Color the field green or brown, and add a blue sky behind it. Older kids can add rows of crops or a red barn in the background.
A little learning
Comparing the huge back wheel with the small front wheel is a natural way to practice big and small. Count the bolts on the big wheel.
