Things to talk about while coloring
Hanukkah lasts eight nights, and its dates shift from year to year because they follow the Hebrew calendar, usually landing in November or December. Look together at the menorah and dreidel under the words. Ask your child which part of Hanukkah they look forward to most, from lighting candles to eating latkes. Families often sing songs, play games, and give small gifts during the holiday.
Coloring ideas
Blue and white bubble letters look festive, or kids can alternate colors letter by letter. The menorah below can be gold with yellow flames, and the dreidel can match the letters above. Kids who want a challenge can draw Hebrew letters on the dreidel's faces after looking up what they look like together.
A little learning
Hanukkah has two Ks and two As, so finding the double letters and counting all the letters together is great letter practice. Counting the candles on the small menorah adds one more number job.
