Things to talk about while coloring

Coloring ideas
Make each layer of frosting a different pastel, and color the sprinkles in a rainbow of tiny dots. The horn can be gold, the ears pink inside, and each candle can get its own stripes with a yellow flame.
A little learning
Counting the three layers and the candles on top, then talking about how many candles your child had on their last birthday, makes this a counting page. Comparing the widest bottom layer with the smallest top layer adds size words like wide and narrow.
