Things to talk about while coloring
Real castles were built long ago, often of stone, with tall towers so guards could watch the land around them. This fairy tale castle has three towers with pointed roofs and flags on top. Ask your child who lives inside the castle and what the unicorn is doing standing on the path outside. Some real castles, like ones in Germany and Scotland, still stand today and families can visit them.
Coloring ideas
Color the castle walls light gray or pink, then give each pointed roof a different bright color. The winding path can be tan or stepping-stone gray, and the flags on top are small enough for a fine-tip marker challenge.
A little learning
The castle has triangle roofs, rectangle towers, and an arched door, so it's a great page for naming shapes and counting the three towers.
