This free number 6 tracing worksheet helps kids learn to write six the same way every time. Trace the dotted rows, then try the blank lines. Pick a line size, print on Letter or A4, and pair it with a quick counting game.
How to write the number 6
- Start just below the top line on the right and curve down to the left.
- Lift your pencil and make a circle at the bottom, starting on the left and curving down, between the middle dashed line and the bottom line.
Teaching tip for 6
6 and 9 are easy to mix up because one is the other turned upside down. 6 has its circle at the bottom, like a ball rolling down a slide.
Count to 6 with real things
- Count 6 eggs in half a carton
- Line up 6 crackers on a plate
- Roll a die and find the 6 dots
Writing a number sticks better when your child has just counted that many things with their hands.
