This free letter B tracing worksheet gives your child rows of capital B and lowercase b to trace, then blank lines to try on their own. Pick a line size for their age, print it on Letter or A4, and practice for five minutes a day.
How to write a capital B
- Pull a straight line down from the top line to the bottom line.
- Go back to the top, curve out to the right, and come back in to touch the line at the middle dashed line.
- From the middle, curve out to the right again and come back in at the bottom line. The bottom bump is a little bigger.
How to write a lowercase b
- Pull a tall straight line down from the top line to the bottom line.
- Make a small round ball on the right side of the line, between the middle dashed line and the bottom line.
Teaching tip for B
b and d are the most common reversal. Teach "bat before ball": the tall line comes first for b, then the ball sits on its right side.
