This free letter E tracing worksheet gives your child rows of capital E and lowercase e to trace, then blank lines to try on their own. Pick a line size for their age, print it on Letter or A4, and practice for five minutes a day.
How to write a capital E
- Pull a straight line down from the top line to the bottom line.
- Go back to the top and make a line across to the right.
- Make a shorter line across at the middle dashed line.
- Finish with a line across the bottom line, as long as the top one.
How to write a lowercase e
- Start halfway between the middle dashed line and the bottom line, on the left.
- Make a straight line across to the right.
- Without lifting, curve up over the top, around to the left, and along the bottom, stopping on the right.
Teaching tip for E
Capital E has four lines, so count them out loud as you go. Lowercase e begins with the straight line across, not the curve, which keeps its little window open.
