This free letter U tracing worksheet gives your child rows of capital U and lowercase u to trace, then blank lines to try on their own. Pick a line size for their age, print it on Letter or A4, and practice for five minutes a day.
How to write a capital U
- Start at the top line on the left and pull down.
- Curve around along the bottom line and go back up the right side to the top line.
How to write a lowercase u
- Start at the middle dashed line and pull down, curving around along the bottom line and up the right side.
- Lift your pencil and pull a short straight line down the right side, from the middle dashed line to the bottom line.
Teaching tip for U
Lowercase u has a little tail line on its right side that capital U does not. Without it, u can look like a small v or an upside-down n.
