How to write a capital S
- Start just below the top line on the right side.
- Curve up and to the left, then swing back across to the right at the middle dashed line.
- Curve around the bottom and finish on the left, just above the bottom line.
How to write a lowercase s
- Start just below the middle dashed line on the right side.
- Curve up and to the left, then swing back across to the right halfway down.
- Curve around the bottom and finish on the left.
Teaching tip for S
S is one smooth stroke, so it is easy to reverse. Start with a little c at the top, then curve back the other way. "Slither like a snake" is a cue many kids remember.
