This free letter H tracing worksheet gives your child rows of capital H and lowercase h to trace, then blank lines to try on their own. Pick a line size for their age, print it on Letter or A4, and practice for five minutes a day.

How to write a capital H

  1. Pull a straight line down on the left from the top line to the bottom line.
  2. Pull a second straight line down on the right, the same height.
  3. Join them with a line across the middle dashed line.

How to write a lowercase h

  1. Pull a tall straight line down from the top line to the bottom line.
  2. Start partway up that line, make a hump over to the right, and pull straight down to the bottom line.

Teaching tip for H

Lowercase h is a tall line plus the same hump used in n. A good cue is "down, back up, and over the hill." Watch that the hump does not float away from the tall line.
