This free letter P tracing worksheet gives your child rows of capital P and lowercase p to trace, then blank lines to try on their own. Pick a line size for their age, print it on Letter or A4, and practice for five minutes a day.
How to write a capital P
- Pull a straight line down from the top line to the bottom line.
- Go back to the top, curve out to the right, and come back in to touch the line at the middle dashed line.
How to write a lowercase p
- Pull a straight line down from the middle dashed line to below the bottom line.
- Make a small round ball on the right side of the line, between the middle dashed line and the bottom line.
Teaching tip for P
Lowercase p and q are mirror images. p starts with its line, like b, and the ball sits on the right. Its line hangs below the bottom line.
