This free letter G tracing worksheet gives your child rows of capital G and lowercase g to trace, then blank lines to try on their own. Pick a line size for their age, print it on Letter or A4, and practice for five minutes a day.
How to write a capital G
- Start just below the top line on the right side.
- Curve up and around to the left, down along the bottom line, and up the right side to just below the middle.
- Without lifting, pull a short line straight in toward the center.
How to write a lowercase g
- Start just under the middle dashed line and make a small circle, curving up and around to the left first.
- Start at the middle dashed line on the right side of the circle and pull straight down below the bottom line.
- Hook to the left at the bottom like a fishhook.
Teaching tip for G
Capital G is a C with a shelf. Lowercase g drops below the bottom line, so point out that its tail hangs down and hooks left, while q has a straight tail that kicks right.
