This free letter Z tracing worksheet gives your child rows of capital Z and lowercase z to trace, then blank lines to try on their own. Pick a line size for their age, print it on Letter or A4, and practice for five minutes a day.
How to write a capital Z
- Make a line across the top line from left to right.
- Without lifting, slant down to the bottom line on the left.
- Finish with a line across the bottom line to the right.
How to write a lowercase z
- Make a line across the middle dashed line from left to right.
- Without lifting, slant down to the bottom line on the left.
- Finish with a line across the bottom line to the right.
Teaching tip for Z
Z is "across, slant back, across" in one stroke. If the slant goes from top left to bottom right, it turns into a backward z, so trace the slant slowly at first.
