This free letter M tracing worksheet gives your child rows of capital M and lowercase m to trace, then blank lines to try on their own. Pick a line size for their age, print it on Letter or A4, and practice for five minutes a day.
How to write a capital M
- Pull a straight line down from the top line to the bottom line.
- Go back to the top and slant down to a point just below the middle.
- Slant back up to the top line on the right, then pull straight down to the bottom line.
How to write a lowercase m
- Pull a short line down from the middle dashed line to the bottom line.
- Start partway up that line, make a hump over to the right, and pull down to the bottom line.
- Start at the top of that line and make a second hump, the same size, down to the bottom line.
Teaching tip for M
Lowercase m has two humps and n has one. Counting the humps out loud helps kids who rush and add a third.
